Every Labor Day weekend, a group of Will's college friends get together for what they've labeled a "hootenanny". This year it was in PA, and when we found out it was going to cost almost as much to drive as it would to fly, we bought plane tickets. On Friday, we woke up at 5, got to the airport with Graham and 7 (count them, 7) carry-ons (turns out a lot of baby gear thankfully does not count as carry-on luggage). Anyway, we parked, took the shuttle, boarded the plane, and got situated just in time for them to announce that there was a maintenance problem and everybody had to get back off. Here we are with our 7 carry-ons (and Graham) waiting in line to be rebooked.

That's when we found out that our flight wouldn't leave until 5:00 that evening, so we went home. Brian and Cheryl, who hosted everybody, were really sweet about coming to pick us up 10 hours late.
Mostly we hung out at the house and brushed up on our ladderball and ping pong skills, but we also went to the zoo in our matching Hootenanny tshirts. :) This is the most bizarre and bendy camel I ever saw:

You can tell what Graham thought of it by the expression on his lips:

We had a great time! Thanks, Brian & Cheryl, for hosting this year!! :)

did graham even have a hootenanny bib?? that stinks about the flight. :( glad you had a fun trip though!
Yup, the 2 kids got matching bibs... Cheryl did a great job with them. The flight turned out to be okay, we just had some time at home to relax. :)
I can't wait to see you all again. And to hold Graham. Joe, Gwen & Nathan were down and it just seems impossible that the boys are growing up so fast. Not to mention that my "Baby" will be 21 in a few days. Don't wish this time away, it goes too fast.
