More Logic

A conversation with Graham the other day:

Me: It's a little chilly outside. You should wear your jacket.

Graham: I don't want to wear a jacket.

Me: Well, if you ask me, it's a little cold out there.

Graham: Well, I won't ask you then.

Hootenanny

Will's college friends swooped in over Labor Day and brought with them the flurry of activity that is known as our annual Hootenanny. The weather was not ideal. In fact, it stunk. But when you have that many good friends together, who needs sunshine or cool weather, or even clothes, for that matter? Case in point:

All of the pictures were courtesy of Sam and Cheryl. Thank you for sharing!!

California

Will had a conference in California in August. My college roommate just moved back to California. Will also has wonderful parents. Throw it all together and we were able to take a fantastic, 5-day, kid-free vacation.

I got to see my good friend Heloise, and meet her husband and sweet little girl.

We also went tide-pooling one evening and found sea urchins and starfish, among other things, then fed crabs to the anemones. Very entertaining.

A huge thanks to my mother-in-law and father-in-law (and Kim), who watched the kids for us that week. You all deserve a medal. Or a massage. Or maybe you should just line up in one of those massage circles and rub each others' backs for awhile. Either way, we appreciate what you did.

...which is now mostly about the kids.
