First First Day of School

Graham's first day of Kindergarten was last Friday. He told me today that he thinks it's boring because he has to sit too much, there is too much criss-cross applesauce sitting, there aren't enough crafts, and it takes too long. Good thing it's only half day. He does like his teacher, though, so there is at least one bright spot.

Just for kicks, here's a picture of Chase on Graham's first day of school.

And in his spare time, when he is not sitting through the drudgery of the crisscross applesauce position at school, Graham is suddenly into catching frogs. Toads are not difficult to grab, but frogs... they take some effort.

Camping

A few weeks ago, we camped in the backyard with Uncle Chris & Aunt Kim. We all made it the whole night this year! I had secretly hoped someone would want to sleep inside, and I was going to make the sacrifice and take them.

The fireworks were leftover from the wedding last year, and it may have been a good thing they weren't used. Turns out they spit fire... Could have made an interesting exit from the wedding if Kim's dress (or hair) had caught on fire.

Vincents Visit

We are so excited to have Adam & Rebecca, Kaiden & Risa back in the States for awhile. They will be in and out over the next few months, and our kids are thrilled to have them around. Here they are flying mini kites together in the backyard.

Fighting off the Smoke

One afternoon, I heard the kids making plans for something in the garage. Then I saw them head out to the backyard with bike helmets, golf clubs, ropes, and snow brick molds. When I went to investigate, I found out they were teaming up to fight off the smoke coming from the neighbor's yard.

Vacation 2013

This year, for a vacation, Will's family rented a house in southwestern Pennsylvania and we spent a weekend together. With 6 kids in the house, there was always something going on. (Always!) It was a lot of fun! We missed Ben & Tabatha, Logan & Audrey, but hopefully they will be able to come next time.

Summertime

Catching lightning bugs, and the sunset that followed it.

Flyswatter painting with the neighbor girls. They brought their homemade slip-n-slide, which the kids loved.

...which is now mostly about the kids.
