Nothing to see here, folks.

Chase's school held a Bring a Special Person to School Day a few weeks ago. It just so happened that we were running short on Special People that morning, so we worked it out so that I could attend with him. He was extremely excited, and as we walked into the gym, he was literally jumping up and down.

It must have subsided by the time the introductions rolled around. The teacher started with Carter, who said he brought his grandpa with him. Then she moved on to Chase.

Mrs. Wilma: Chase, who did you bring with you today?
Chase: I just brought a monster truck.
Mrs. Wilma: What?
Me: I'm a monster truck.
(Everyone laughs.)
Mrs. Wilma: Chase, who did you bring along today?
(Chase looks at her quizzically.)
Mrs. Wilma: Who is that standing behind you?
Chase: Oh, that's just Mommy.

I guess they should have renamed it, Bring a Monster Truck or Just Anybody With a Heartbeat Day.
