We teach a class of 5th & 6th graders on Sunday mornings. Sometimes our conversations get interesting.
Will: Missionaries tell people all around the world about Jesus. Can you think of any ways we can support missionaries?
Student: Wait a minute. Missionaries are people from other countries that you pay to fight for you, right?
Me: Um, I think those are mercenaries.
Student: Oh.
(I think missionaries would make a lot more money if they had second jobs as mercenaries. May be a conflict of interest, though.)
