Happy Halloween!

Updates

It's been a busy fall season!

Sleeping in a hammock... at Lowe's.

The kids are finally old enough to go on hikes!

We enjoyed the company's fall party last month.

Sometimes we get tired of pushing them on the swings.

Gabriella is still periodically falling asleep on the floor instead of her bed.

She's enjoying her ballet class. Her favorite part is the giant mirror.

Watch your back, Mr. Bond.

Gabriella came home from preschool with a pair of spy glasses.

With the glasses on, she bears a striking resemblance to a chameleon...

Third First Day of School

Chase started preschool 5 days a week this year (the 3 day program was full). He loves it! His school has toys this year! When I asked him today what he did, he said he chased girls on the playground. Oh, the innocence lost...

Second First Day of School

Gabriella started her one-day-a-week preschool this year, and she was so excited. On the first day, her teacher said she was "such a sweetheart". We thought it was hilarious that her backpack was far larger than her back.

Quotable Quotes

From Graham, as we practiced addition and subtraction on the way home from school one day.

Me: What is 5 minus 2?
Graham: 3
Me: So what is 10 plus 0?
Graham: The flag of America plus seventy.

Overheard from Chase and Gabriella playing in the family room.

Gabriella: How about you be the king and I be the queen?
Chase: How about you be the queen and I be the dead spider?

From a preschooler in the kids' class at church on Sunday, after hearing the story of Adam & Eve.

Teacher: So what happens when you make a bad choice?
Preschooler: You turn naked!

Did I hear you correctly?

Chase walks into my bathroom carrying his favorite Spiderman shirt.

Chase: I love you!
Me: I love you, too, Chase!
Chase: I was talking to my shirt.
Me: Well, I still love you, Chasecakes.
Chase: Alright.

These kids sure know how to melt their mother's heart.

...which is now mostly about the kids.
